The worst of any card room I have ever been in. And that i saying a lot. The only card room where dealers, yes dealers, put you 'on a clock' after 30 seconds. They are so greedy they want you to act fast so they can deal more hands. There is no thinking, the dealer puts pressure on you to act. Also, when there is no flop, they don't pay the whole pot until after the next hand has been dealt. It is a trick they use to occasionally keep the $5 rake for themselves. So shady! Not to mention the place is in an awful neighborhood. They also have no food, no kitchen, and no alcohol.
No Thanks!

Just like my rating of the Lucky Lady Card Room down the road...... I wouldn't recommend this poker room to any of my friends.
Pro's - Nice tables; easy to find; friendly dealers Con's - No table talking or fun (to serious); no food; not enough parking; overall a cheesy environment.
(My rating was based on 5 being the best and 1 being the worst.)

You will like the Palomar Card Club if a) you are writing a novel about the seamy and soft underbelly of the poker world; b) you have been in jail for 20 years watch reruns of the WSOP and this is the first chance you have to play poker; c) you live across the street and you have no car or friends to drive you somewhere else. I should have read the omens before entering the Palomar. Not only are the streets around this "club" dark, dirty, and dingy but I actually spotted a coyote in one of the alleys down the street when I had to turn around trying to find this establishment. This place was so dirty, so repulsive that I wouldn't recommend it to people I don't like very much. They say they have 7 tables, and they do, but when I went only three were in play and it closed at midnight (or maybe one). Don't go here if you like poker because the $1-2 game is an All In Festival. The closest room to the Palomar I have been to is Oceans Eleven (33.64 miles), but I would rather walk there than play here. If you insist on going bring the following: money for softdrinks (they ain't free), antiseptic hand gel (you'll know why immediately), a sense of humor, and wear old clothes.
